Past Dogs
Kara
'Marials Palmeridge Ole Miss'
I bought Kara in Vet School a pet. She was a wonderful source of affection and love and took me through many hard times. Here is is during her last days in her battle with lung cancer. We went out for a walk and found Shoreline Amphitheater open from the rear and the dogs went in. The expance of grass was huge. My mother still wants a red sable girl 'just like Kara' . Kara was 12 when she passd.
I still miss my sable girl to this day. She always listened and was also loved by my clinic cat Rosie.

Sophie
Sophie was my first whippet I wholly owned. I obtained her from rescue and she had erect ears . Sophie had been confiscated from a man who bred whippets to shepherds and she had lived in a crate in a van for the first 3-5 years of her life. Sophie caught a rabbit for me when we lived in Davis CA. I did not hear her bark for the first 3 years I owned her and it took her 3 months to really warm up to me.. However she once bonded she was inseperable. Sophie was with me through all of my college degrees and major relationships. I hoped she would live forever. But alas I was wrong. I let her go at about 15 years of age when she was so senile she wandered in circles for hours unless we stopped her.. By the time I let her go she was falling over urinating on herself (that was the day) and had lost interest in food which until then she lived for.
Vinnie
Kimera Vincent Black Shadow. It was a sad day in June when I recieved a call that Vinnie had
gone through a front window after a cat and had been hit by a car. Although his mom got him to the veterinarian in time he still did not make it due to severe chest trauma. He was a loving faithful attentive companion. Please inform folks living in suburbia about the risks of open views from front windows in houses. Vinnie had 1 major and a specialty reserve and numerous singles. He had had a prior accident that ended his show career early and I had placed him where he could have more one on one attention which he lived for. His mom Gail provided a great home and even bought a house for him so he could have a huge back yard instead of a condo and dog parks. I could not have asked for a better second home for Vinnie. We pride our dogs on prey drive for racing events however on days like that one in June I could have wished for a less.
